Yami asked this question over and over again in her mind. The sun hung in a cloudless sky, beating down upon the land and baking anything that came out into the light. It was an unbearably hot day, and Yami was stuck in the middle of it.

She trotted through the land, searching for any signs of water. She was extremely thirsty, borderline dehydrated. She hadn't eaten in a while, but that wasn't what was on her mind.

She finally saw a body of water appear over the horizon. She heaved a sigh of relief and ran towards it- it was the marsh. She trotted up to the edge, lowered her snout, and lapped up a bit of water, all the while keeping watch for crocodiles that may be lurking within the water..

Yami jumped away. She bared her fangs and growled slightly at Rebel.. she backed up, glaring at him.

Something about males made her increasingly nervous, but she couldn't quite put her claw on it. With a shake of her fur, she trotted a few yards away and resumed drinking, keeping a close eye on Rebel.
